Alone we can do so little;
together we can do so much.
$100 cannot do much good in the world.
But if 1000 people contribute $100 the impact of $100,000 would be tremendous.
Have you ever read a book that has made your heart stop, made you sob until you gasp, made you laugh out loud, or even made you want to change the world? A book can cause an emotional response, as does traveling. Recall the times you laughed with a stranger, marveled at a breathtaking site, or made a new friend even though you didn’t speak the same language. If you have had these experiences, you know that books and travel have had a positive impact on your life. Books&Wanderlust believes that everyone should be afforded these same opportunities.
In the United States:
The average college student spends $1,200 on books*
7 out of 10 undergraduates say that they have not purchased one or more textbooks because the cost was too high**
Fewer than 10% of all U.S. college students study abroad during their undergraduate years***
83% of study abroad students from the United States are white
While only 4% of study abroad students are Black and 6% are Hispanic****
The mission of Books&Wanderlust is to enrich the lives of underserved populations by providing opportunities to explore the world. We do this by providing scholarships for readers, writers, and travelers. We invite you to become a partner in this endeavor.
Our twelve-month 1000×100 campaign aims to raise $100,000 by December 31, 2016. By contributing $100 you can help us impact someone’s life.
Of course we accept contributions of any size. Perhaps you would like to contribute a little more, or if $100 seems like too much, you can set up a recurring payment of $10 a month for 10 months.
Whatever the amount, please know that your gift will provide someone with a life changing opportunity.
You can make secure one-time or recurring donations online here: go to Donation Form
