Erika Belton was born and raised in the East Suburbs of Cleveland, Ohio, where she currently resides after “wandering” for several years through South Carolina and Colorado. She has also spent time in East Lansing, MI, where she earned a Bachelor of Science in Agriculture and Natural Resources Communication having majored in Journalism and Parks and Recreations Resources and minored in Telecommunications and Fisheries and Wildlife. The dream at the time was to write for a travel magazine. Life, and a post-graduate interest in law, led to a post-graduate certificate in Paralegal Studies.

A life-long voracious reader, her first job (at the ripe old age of 12) was as a newspaper delivery girl for the Cleveland Press, which she read cover to cover before delivering. Her second job was as a Page for the Cleveland Heights-University Heights Public Library. She worked in the English Literature and World History Sections, as well as new Fiction. She currently works as in PNCU Reporting and Analytics at PNC Bank. She has also worked as a paralegal, a deli cook and as a receptionist for several automobile dealerships (where she was known to read a book a day).

She was bitten by the travel bug in her teens when she took part in a three week, school sponsored camping trip across the Western United States. She also has an affinity for the beach. Any beach, from Homer, Alaska to the Gulf Coast. Her feet always find their way into the water.

In addition to reading, Erika’s hobbies include hiking, running, baking, crocheting, traveling and crewing hot air balloons.

Books have always played an important part of her life. She also inherited from her Grandparents a strong desire to see places different from her own. In 2000, she was diagnosed with Crohn’s Disease. Over the years, the ability to travel has sometimes been curtailed. During those times, she finds adventure (as well as comfort) in books. She is very excited to be a part of Books&Wanderlust, hoping to spread the joy she has found in each.
